Suburban Timewaster

I play video games and review them.

Awakening: The Skyward Castle (

After awakening from a long sleep, traveling through Moonfell Well, and seeking the Goblins’ aid, Princess Sophia finally discovers her home.  For some reason, the people have been turned to stone and a man named Dreadmyre threatens the safety of it.

Like the last games, Sophia has no powers and is reliant on her own skills and her magic companions.  In this one, it works to her advantage because Dreadmyre can’t harm her.  She also meets the many servants of the castle and discovers why her parents did what they did.

The game play is reliant on logic.  You have to find objects throughout the game and figure out which object would be put to better use in which scene.

If you’re stuck, you can use a hint.  You also have two companions in the form of a pocket dragon and a wise owl.

After this, you can play the epilogue to discover that the series isn’t over yet.  If you feel like shelling out extra money, you can get some bonus content.

This game is beautiful and fun.  I give it 8 out of 10, great artwork and a great game.

  1. Hi, I was wondering how/where you find the uTube video to copy and paste to the blog. I tried to pick up the BigFish one but it wouldn’t work. I googled Images where I get my pics from, but couldn’t see any that appeared to be uTube videos. I tried copying the URL of the one on your site where it opened into other uTube game videos on completion of Awakening – but it just showed Awakening with the others on the side – plus launched into an ad first. So I deleted them again. I’d thought that was better than nothing, but decided it might be off-putting.
Hope you can give me the steps you take to pick up the sales video as I think that is excellent and I have seen others do it successfully. An added bonus to your blog.
I could open a uTube account I guess, but have so little knowledge of how it works that I hesitate.
I like your game blogs. Have you checked out my site lately – I have put heaps of my essays, and one thesis (in drop down menu) many on Tolkien’s work, and fantasy, myth and legends – plus literary theory etc. 😀 Jud

    • I just go to, do a search for the game I want, click the embed button, copy/paste the code to the HTML section of my blog and that’s it. No, I can’t say that I’ve checked out your other blog.

      • Thanks I will give it a try – if I can see the Embed button, and the HTML section of my blog – I’ll need to investigate that. lol

      • I’m sure you can find it.

      • Couldn’t find ’embed’ at all. There was an Upload but all it did was move the link there but when I saved the draft the Link vanished. I was so unsuccessful – s i g h . . .

      • Below the youtube video, click share which should be to the right of about. Below that, embed should be to the right of share this video.

      • Also no idea what the HTML section is. Thought you meant the URL at the top, but of course you didn’t. Double s i g h . . .

      • Go to my blogs, click on your posts and click on add post to the left. There are two tabs at the top of the body section, visual and HTML. HTML is the section where you use computer codes.

      • Mine has Visual and Text – and that’s another whole bone of contention! Mine gets stuck in Text every now and then I have to go ballistic!! 😀 Then I open others that are definitely Visual and then go back to the prob blog and it opens in Visual. WordPress has no idea why this is happening to me. S i g h It seems all part of the ‘new look’ WP imitating windows 8 – Outlook have done it to Hotmail as well. More s i g h s . . .

      • Sorry to hear that. I hope this issue gets resolved soon.

  2. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m looking to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something
completely unique. P.S My apologies for being off-topic
    but I had to ask!
